Nothing really matters

I want to start by asking a very heavy question- why do we exist? I’m not even going to try and answer this. For two reasons, one, I don’t think I'm qualified enough, and two, I don’t think an answer exists. Still, I'm going to try and put out my thought process around this question and my ideas related to it. I'm just an existential nihilist, trying to convert other normal people to nihilists, too. But through the next few paragraphs, I would try and make this question as important and frustrating for you as it is for me.

Everyone dies. That’s a universal truth. So many billions have come, walked this planet, and gone. So many billions waiting to arrive. You are just passing by on the conveyor belt. And the conveyor never stops, never changes. The messed up part is, no one knows who the conveyor belongs to, who put it there, when it started, or when its going to stop. As a whole, the world (conveyor belt) has no purpose and no meaning.
I would like to use an analogy I read on Reddit. It only makes sense to say that something has a meaning or purpose if it plays a role in a system of which it is a part. For example, the purpose of windshield wipers is to clear the windshield of raindrops so that the driver can see. But in a universe consisting of nothing but a pair of windshield wipers (our planet), then we couldn’t intelligibly say that they have a purpose at all. Why do the wipers exist when there is no car, no driver, or as a matter of fact, no windshield? The earth, although possessing potential to add value, doesn’t HAVE anything to add value to. The universe is just a collection of energy packets moving and jerking about in and out of different configurations.
Can you imagine nothingness? Our brains are not competent enough to imagine nothingness. The best we can do is imagine space…or the color black. But technically, black is not “nothing”. Realize how life was for you before you were born. It was nothing; no blackness, no void, nothing. That is how life will be after you are dead. NOTHING.
Everything that we worry about, everything that we're doing, everything that has meaning to us right now, possesses no meaning when it comes to the universe as a whole. Read this line very carefully-
There is no objective, desire-independent thing that gives people's lives meaning
Why can't there be nothing? What's even the point of us being there if we’re not contributing to something or not filling up a part of a bigger thing. Even by doing things, you're not changing anything. We’re like a simulation, where everything is fake. Nothing matters, whatever you do, or whatever anyone's doing. There is no ultimate reason behind us doing, or wanting to do, things. Why can't we just not do anything? Because our doing something, and our doing nothing, has the exact same effect on the overall entropy of the universe.
Now, why are we even discussing this? I believe being a nihilist helps you stress less and become more dispassionate. Sometimes, things go the way you don't want them to, but this is what gives life excitement. Missing an interview, being late to class, failing a test, injuring your knee; if such things don't happen every now and then, and everything went the way you expected or wanted it to go, doesn't life becomes boring? What is even the point of a life like that? No outliers means no excitement, anticipation, or fun. The possibility of things going wrong is what makes us want to live or do things in the first place. Imagine if you knew that everything in your life from this point is going to go well, and there's going to be no problems. Do you want to live like that? There's no point.
If it's not gonna matter 5 years from now, don't worry about it.
This is a very simple rule that I follow. Chill out, relax, set back, and know that everything's going to be alright. Even if things go wrong, you have plenty of time to figure it out. You don't have to answer to anyone except yourself, and you don't have to meet anyone's expectations. Do whatever you want to do in life. One day, everyone's going to die, and before that, if you're not having fun, what're you even doing?
